Arike Ogunbowale

Arike She is an American professional basketball player. She plays for the Dallas Wings Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings as the 5th overall selection in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. There are two brothers: Mario (26 years young) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). She was the youngest child of her family, and her parents spoiled her the most. Her father Gregory was posted with the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale comes from an active lineage of family members. Her mother Yolanda and her brother Dare both played softball while at DePaul. Ogunbowale took gold during the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. In July of 2014 she was picked to join the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale also has been named to the ACC All-Freshman Team after her debut collegiate season. Kobe Bryant himself congratulated Ogunbowale following her NCCA Tournament big shot. Ogunbowale's basketball career has gotten off to a good start, and she will continue with her career in this direction.
